It's still happening, y'all. It's just hard to put something like together while you're hauling boxes of Hoke Hogan [sp?] memorabilia across the country. I suggested a few ideas to B that should (hopefully) turn out awesome.

Hey jon, so I'm assuming you talked to B lately, which takes a load off my mind. He didn't quite say how long the move woul,d take, so him being gone over a week, I was worried about the dude. Good to hear he is ok.

I'd guess either one of those boring conservative Western blocky kind of states or some place like Mississippi, which is a Terrible Place pretty much across the board. At least Utah has Salt Lake City, home of perhaps the most hilariously misnamed team in all of sports. At least Wyoming has Yellowstone. (Fun fact: every state in the Union has at least one U.S. District Court. In no state do the jurisdictional boundaries of that state's District Court reach past the real territorial boundaries of that state... except for Wyoming. The U.S. District Court for the state of Wyoming also has jurisdiction over portions of Yellowstone National Park within Montana.)

But yeah, the south sucks. And I even voted for Alabama.

Anyone talking shit about Utah clearly hasn't spent nearly enough time in Utah

I put Utah pretty high based purely on liking the song Beehive State by Randy Newman.

I hear it's kind of wrong to judge an entire state by its Greyhound station and the people who populate it, but Utah didn't make my top 25 and I have my reasons.
hey guys buy my book ok?

I sure hope its Mississippi, and terrible place describes it. And this is coming from someone who actually enjoys taking vacations to the horrible state, so that has to tell you something

I based most of my decision making after the top five states on state nicknames and mottoes.

I would never have ranked West Virginia so high if not for its motto: Montani Semper Liberi. "The mountains are always free." Something about that always struck me as totally awesome.

I ranked West Virginia because I really like driving through it. When I would drive to the east coast, I always loved West Va's big rolling hills and the lush greens. When you live in suburbia the way I grew up in, it's always nice to see some natural settings.

Of course, I have never stopped in West Virginia and got to see real "townsfolk" so to speak.

Well, if anything, a college town is probably your best bet to find non-Klan related civilization in Mississippi. (Actually I have several friends who graduated from Ole Miss and they've spoken very well of the university and Oxford.)

My original plan for this doesn't seem like it's gonna work out, so look for this soon. I can promise a few surprises in the rankings, at least from my point of view.

Agreeing with Aude here, if you have to be in Mississippi, I'm guessing the college towns are going to be the least horrid.
